Author Guidelines

Progressive: Journal of Advanced Education accepts research articles, conceptual studies, and policy analyses in the field of educations that align with the journal’s focus and scope. Authors are expected to follow the guidelines below before submitting their manuscripts

1.    Types of Manuscripts Accepted

This journal accepts various types of manuscripts, including:

  • Research articles (empirical, quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods).
  • Conceptual and theoretical studies related to education advancements.
  • Education policy analyses based on data and research findings

2.    General Manuscript Requirements

  • The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under review in another journal.
  • It must be written in proper English with clear and concise language.
  • The length of the manuscript should be between 5,000–8,000 words, including abstract, tables, figures, and references.
  • The file format must be Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) with A4 page size and 3 cm margins on all sides.
  • Use Tahoma, 11 pt font size, 1.15 spacing.
  • Citations and references must follow the latest edition of APA (American Psychological Association) Style.

3.    Manuscript Structure

Title

  • Must be clear, concise, and reflective of the manuscript’s content (maximum 15 words).

Abstract

  • Written in English, 150–200 words.
  • Includes research objectives, methods, key findings, and implications.
  • Accompanied by 3–5 relevant keywords.

Introduction

  • Explains the research background, significance, and objectives.
  • Includes a literature review and contribution to existing research.

Research Methodology

  • Describes the research approach, data sources, analysis techniques, and instruments used.

Results and Discussion

  • Presents key findings systematically with supporting tables/graphs.
  • Compares findings with previous studies.

Conclusion

  • Summarizes key findings and provides theoretical and practical implications.
  • Suggestions for future research may be included if necessary.

References

  • Must include recent sources (at least 80% from the last 10 years).
  • Follow APA Style and be listed alphabetically.

4.    Tables and Figures

  • All tables and figures must be numbered and titled clearly.
  • Sources must be provided (if adapted from other studies).
  • Must be embedded within the text and referred to in the manuscript.

5.    Review and Publication Process

  • All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  • The review process takes approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on the required revisions.
  • Authors will receive notification regarding the manuscript status (accepted, revised, or rejected).

6.    Publication Ethics

  • Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism (maximum 20% similarity index based on software such as Turnitin).
  • Authors are responsible for the originality of data and content.
  • Any conflicts of interest must be explicitly declared.

7.    Manuscript Submission

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS) or via the designated editorial email.
  • All communication regarding acceptance, revision, and publication will be conducted through the journal’s official email.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

1.    Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain the copyright of their published articles while granting Progressive: Journal of Advanced Educations the right of first publication.
  • All published articles in this journal are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This allows others to:
    • Share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format).
    • Adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material) for any purpose, even commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given to the original author.

2.    Author Rights

Authors have the following rights:

  • To use their articles for personal, educational, and research purposes.
  • To distribute, archive, or deposit their articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, or academic social networks.
  • To use the article in future works, including books, conference proceedings, and derivative research.

3.    Editorial and Publisher Rights

  • The journal reserves the right to edit and format the manuscript for publication without altering the original meaning.
  • The publisher has the right to promote and distribute the published articles while ensuring that proper credit is given to the authors

4.    Plagiarism and Copyright Infringement

  • The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism and copyright violations.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work does not infringe on any existing copyrights.
  • If a copyright dispute arises, the journal reserves the right to retract the article or take necessary corrective actions

5.    Commercial Use and Reproduction

  • Anyone may use the articles for commercial purposes, provided they comply with the CC BY 4.0 license, which requires proper attribution to the authors and original publication source.
  • If any additional permissions are required beyond the scope of the license, users must contact the authors directly.
