Efektivitas Penerapan Media Audio Visual Dalam Pembelajaran IPA Kelas V SDN 23 Marapalam Kota Padang

Abstract


This research is motivated by the fact that many teachers still experience difficulties in using audio-visual media in the learning process, primarily due to age factors that make technology less than optimal. This condition impacts the delivery of material that is less than optimal, for example in science learning on the topic of blood circulation, students only understand the theory without being able to actually grasp the form and how the human circulatory system works. Therefore, the use of audio-visual media is the right solution to help teachers concretize abstract material so that it is easier for students to understand. This study aims to describe the application of audio-visual media in science learning for fifth graders at SD Negeri 23 Marapalam, Padang City using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that audio-visual media is effective for use in learning. Teachers found it easier to instruct and demonstrate the material on blood circulation, while students showed enthusiasm, higher learning motivation, and did not feel bored during the learning process. In addition, student learning test results also increased after the use of audio-visual media. Thus, it can be concluded that audio-visual media plays an important role in improving students' conceptual understanding, motivation, and learning outcomes in science subjects.
